WebP (Web Picture)
WebP is an image file format introduced by Google in 2010 with the aim of exploring the leading positions of JPG and PNG formats for storing and transmitting digital images. The web browser has become better in the JPEG and PNG format, but the files in the format are smaller. WebP images are not compatible with some browsers and image viewers. Often, analysts describe this format as "incomplete" i.e. format that needs to be finalized. But still, WebP is an extremely useful format, because it provides both performance and great features. Unlike other formats, WebP supports lossy and non-lossy compression, as well as translucency and animation.
GIF (Graphics Interchange Format)
GIF file is an image, often accompanied by animation. It is formed by means of specialized graphic editors, it can carry several raster images in a certain sequence. GIF format is widespread in the field of creating banners, as well as the graphic shell of video content. The main advantage is data compression without an obvious loss of quality at a depth of up to 256 colors; modern editions of GIF animations include customizable transparency functions. Animated images consist of a number of static frames, as well as data on the required time of demonstration of a frame. Almost any program for viewing, processing images and video can open the extension, including on mobile devices, smartphones and tablets, regardless of the current operating system.
